DJILBA – A MOMENT IN TIME
In true Margaret River fashion, the weather kept us guessing right up until Saturday afternoon – but the show must go on. And what a show it was.
We were thrilled to welcome the supremely talented Western Australian ballet dancer and choreographer, Floeur Alder, to the Voyager Estate garden this past weekend for a very special performance, Djilba – A Moment in Time.
This captivating work, created in collaboration with sculptor and writer, Virginia Ward, draws inspiration from the Rainbow Coast in Western Australia’s Great Southern region. Through dance, poetry, sound and projection, it celebrates Djilba – the Noongar season of transition and emergence.
As twilight settled over the marri trees, guests brought along a picnic and enjoyed the immersive rhythm of nature, complete with pre-show sounds from coastal singer-songwriter, Nicky Sandover, and of course, Voyager wines. Albeit a little chilly, it was an extraordinary evening of artistry and connection, set against the natural beauty of the Estate – one that will stay with us for many years to come.
