An Evening with Cassandra Bynder

On Saturday, 3rd October, join us at the Estate from 5.30–7.30pm as we gather for the opening celebration of our annual Kambarang Exhibition.

This year, it’s a privilege to welcome Noongar/Yamatji/third-generation Australian woman, storyteller and curator, Cassandra Bynder, to showcase her transformative work.

A self-taught artist, Cassandra reveals her craft through different mediums, playing with colour and texture and creating dream-like works using found materials. Her practice explores multi-layered human worlds, her own experience and connection to Country, and what we might find in the stillness and spaces in between breaths.

Kambarang brings warmth and drier days, and the magpie sings of the season of birth, while patches of yellow bloom across the landscape. Coming out of her own ‘winter’, Cassandra’s exhibition will present a mix of larger canvas works and smaller paper prints, old and new, that navigate the change of season, both in the landscape and within herself.

Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to meet Cassandra and explore her work alongside a glass of Voyager Estate wine and canapés.

Cassandra’s artwork will also be on display daily in our Wine Room for the month of October. Visit us 10am–5pm, Monday through Sunday.
