Growing conditions
A dynamic growing season with variable weather conditions. An unseasonably warm end to winter led to early bud-burst, followed by a cooler and windier spring, resulting in natural yield reduction. A consistently warm summer assisted with excellent early tannin ripeness and balanced flavour development but meant
harvest timing was critical to ensure peak varietal expression.
Winemaker notes
Hand-harvested parcels of fruit from our very best vineyard blocks are kept separate during vinification, including 18 months of maturation in 50% new and 50% two-year-old French oak barriques. A wine of great structure, complexity and depth of flavour, yet also displaying elegance and balance, our Cabernet Sauvignon will reward cellaring up to 20 years.
