A internationally-renowned region of distinction
We are lucky to be part of the incredible landscape of Margaret River. Nestled in the south-west corner of Western Australia, Margaret River is one of the largest and most distinct wine regions in Australia, stretching some 100 kilometres from north to south and around 27 kilometres wide in parts.
The shape of a vineyard is determined by the quality of the soils, so the vineyards of Margaret River are small and varied, and while the region is spread over 3,000 square kilometres, there are only 54 square kilometres under vine (about 5,000ha) Located in what James Halliday refers to as the ‘golden triangle’ of Margaret River (encompassing Voyager Estate, Leeuwin Estate and Cape Mentelle), the gravel soils, microclimate, aspect and consistent maritime influence of Stevens Valley are the foundations of our wine style.
