0/ 'Beautifully seductive and perfumed wine. It’s a bold statement with admirable control and restraint. Lots of sweet dark fruit in the middle palate gradually releases through to the finish. Impressive stuff' / 97 points, Ray Jordan
Vineyard Notes
A near-perfect growing season with a warm and dry spring providing excellent conditions for flowering. One of our warmest Decembers on record, advancing fruit development. A slightly milder January was perfect for steady ripening, which led to an early red harvest. The fruit was picked in exceptional condition, with intense colour and concentration supported by fine, silky tannins.
Production Notes
2018: Excellent budburst was followed by a beautifully warm November; ideal flowering and fruit set conditions. Summer was quite mild and one of our wetter Decembers, with just a few hot days. The warmer March weather saw reds ripen beautifully, and they were harvested under clear, sunny skies with ripe, concentrated flavours and excellent fine-grained silky tannins.
2016: From a near-perfect growing season, this is a complex, elegant and medium bodied Cabernet with a core of vibrant dark berry fruit, regional earthy, gravelly nuances and hints of cedar, cocoa, and nori seaweed. Supported by fine-grained tannins and seamlessly integrated French oak it has the perfect balance of aroma, flavour and structure which will ensure great longevity. Drink now - 2036.
