2016 Broadvale Block 6 Chardonnay
Lifted floral citrus notes with attractive hints of lemon meringue and gunflint.
Minerality and texture are at the core of the wine. A fine, elegant palate displays vibrant sweet citrus elements that lead to a fine, delicate, creamy oak texture supported by crisp natural acidity on the finish.
A great cheese board wine, as it's delicate enough to allow cheeses of various styles and textures shine.
Cellar PotentialUp to 10 yearsWinemaking NotesThe 2016 vintage with its cooler ripening period for Chardonnay has produced a wine displaying finesse and elegance, with the hallmark flavours of lemon pith and grapefruit, combined with an attractive chalky textural element. Early hand-harvesting, use of wild yeast, grape solids and malolactic fermentation combined with regular bâtonnage, have all contributed texture, complexity and balance. Sensitive winemaking techniques and the use of French oak, have produced a wine which is restrained, complex and elegant.
