2018 Project Sparkling Rose
Delicate aromas of fresh strawberry, raspberry and red cherry mingle with subtle hints of brioche.
A clean and fresh palate displaying flavours of strawberry, raspberry and red cherry. The delicate lightness of the palate is supported by a fine and persistent mousse, finishing with lovely length afforded by the time spent on lees.
Perfect with light seafood dishes or summer salads
Cellar PotentialDrink now for immediate enjoymentWinemaking NotesA section of our Weightmans Block 3 Shiraz vineyard was set aside for the crafting of this wine. The fruit has always displayed pretty summer red berry characters, early in the ripening phase. Along with holding great natural acidity this parcel has traditionally been used for our still Rosé wine. The excellent conditions in 2018 made us feel a Sparkling Rosé wine was possible, the first from the Estate and made in the traditional method; a process allowing the secondary fermentation to occur in bottle, which also adds complexity and texture to balance the acidity in the wine.
