2017 Broadvale Block 6 Chardonnay
Lifted floral lemon aromas with mealy notes and subtle hints of toast and spice.
Minerality and texture are at the core of the wine. A fine, elegant palate displays tightly wound citrus flavours in the lemon and grapefruit spectrum with dry savoury textural elements, supported by crisp natural acidity on the finish.
A great cheese board wine, delicate enough to allow various cheese flavours and textures shine. Also great with white fish and white meat dishes.
Cellar PotentialUp to 10 yearsWinemaking NotesThe 2017 vintage with its cool ripening period for Chardonnay has produced a wine displaying finesse and elegance, with the hallmark flavours of lemon pith and grapefruit, combined with an attractive, dry, chalky textural element. Early hand-harvesting, use of wild yeast, grape solids and malolactic fermentation combined with regular batonnage, have all contributed texture, complexity and balance. Sensitive winemaking techniques and the use of French oak have produced a wine which is restrained, complex and elegant.
