Winemaker notes
The 2007 vintage produced a classic style of Margaret River Shiraz. This wine has intense colour and memorable perfume and structure. Fresh blueberry, blackberry and liquorice intertwine with hints of spice and cedary oak and are complemented by long, mature and integrated tannins. Food Match: Richer red meat dishes including lamb shanks and venison match beautifully with the lifted spice and defined tannin structure of this Shiraz.
The Wine The warm ripening conditions and low fruit yields made for a highly concentrated wine that exudes ripe dark fruits in the blood plum, blackberry and mulberry spectrum. Hints of lifted spice and anise intertwine with great complexity, mouth feel and tannin ripeness. The superb structure of this wine is integrated perfectly by the use of high quality French and American oak throughout the twelve months maturation period. This impressive wine continues the evolution of Shiraz in Margaret River and at Voyager Estate.
