Vintage Stomp 2006, held on Sunday, 7 May, at Voyager Estate, was
a colourful celebration of the end of Margaret River’s grape harvest.
Presented by Noble Rot Theatre Company, the event, in its second year,
entertained young and old alike from 10am until sunset. Beginning with
a Grand Parade at noon where the God of Wine, Bacchus, led a street
parade along Voyager Estate’s main avenue, the day continued with
Tango dancers, circus performers, competitions, races, rides and wine
tasting. The Margaret River community nominated its own Vintage
Queen, Doris Arthur, for her outstanding contribution to the Margaret
River Community.
And of course, no Vintage Stomp would be complete
without the Celebrity Stomp where local celebrities stomped grapes
and spat grape juice to raise money for local charities.
