Over 2500 riders from around Australia and beyond descended on
the south west region in late March for an epic 2-week bike ride. The
ride covered an average of 75 km/day, taking participants from Albany
to Margaret River to Perth, passing along spectacular coastline and
through ancient Tingle and Karri forests. Voyager Estate was delighted
to be selected as the official lunch venue for the arrival of the
cyclists into Margaret River. A corrugated gravel access road fuelled
the ongoing debate between Road Riders vs. Mountain Bikers, with
Mountain Bikers out-pedaling the carbon fibre brigade on the brain-
shaking dirt track. The Estate lawns and gardens were awash with a
sea of multi-coloured lycra for the duration of the day as official riding
times were forgotten with a few shared bottles of Chardonnay.
